Eiffel Tower, Paris, visit

The best view in Paris.

All year long

Paris | France

Before the Eiffel Tower became recognised throughout the world as the definitive symbol of Paris, it was at first criticised for its modernity within the architectural landscape of 1889. This famous monument was the result of a close collaboration between Stephen Sauvestre, the architect and Gustave Eiffel, the engineer.
It was built for the Universal Expo held in Paris that year and its iron structure continues to attract visitors in their millions year after year.

The panoramic views it offers of the French capital are quite simply breathtaking. In order to get to the top levels and take in this memorable view, you can either be brave and climb the steps to the 2nd level (115 metres!) or take one of the three lifts.
And to make your visit truly memorable, stop off at one of the two restaurants: the 58 Tour Eiffel on the 1st floor or the Michelin-starred Jules-Verne Restaurant on the 2nd floor.

From 31 March 2009 for a period of 18 months, the Eiffel Tower is getting a makeover!
Every seven years 25 painters and around 60 tonnes of paint (totally eco-friendly) are needed to give the Grande Dame back her world-famous "Eiffel Tower brown" colour. In reality, three different shades of brown are used to ensure that the colour appears uniform when viewed by visitors from the ground!
