Jardin d'Acclimatation - Zoological Gardens

Something just for children.

Paris | France

Welcome to the first ever attraction park in France, opened in 1860 by the Emperor Napoleon III in the Bois de Boulogne. The idea of this Jardin d'Acclimatation or Zoological Garden was conceived by Baron Haussman and it was intended to be like an English-style park but with a more scientific lean. Since its creation, it has constantly been updated and areas which were formerly not available to the public have been opened. Discover the historic Old Stables, Pigeon Loft and the Great Aviary.

Come and explore a true children’s paradise: attractions, game areas, riding school, horse show, Punch and Judy show… and also a big sailing ship with birds and parrots, a small farm for exploring the rural world, and a budding Museum designed for children… you'll find everything you need for a great family afternoon.

Housing around one hundred mammals, as well as a large family of birds in the bird house (more than 200), the Zoological Garden has recently welcomed new residents. Bees have now taken possession of seven wooden hives which were made available for them and you can treat yourself to their honey which is sold in the shop.
